Les Gardiens de la Foret by Dyane Dastous

Canadian artist Dyana Dastous lives in Quebec, and her work features beautiful depictions of nature scenes from her local environment.

She speaks about her creative process: “My creative process starts from an intuitive gesture. It is recognized by my works, my light and warm palette alongside the effects of transparency and opacity. I use acrylic and mixed media works to bring relief and texture to my paintings. All subjects interest me, and my themes vary with the inspiration of the moment, but I prefer the trees, while my characters, flowers and still life are taken very close up.”

Christine (Portrait Series #50) by Nymira Gray

Nymira Gray is an American artist who features portraiture in her work, although her philosophy on what makes a portrait is unique.

She shares: “My paintings are a way for me to contemplate human psychology. I have always been fascinated with the inner workings of the mind, and use faces as the most direct method to deliberate and convey various traits and strong characteristics, for example, determination, thoughtfulness, wisdom, or kindness. I’ve always felt that the eyes truly are the windows to the soul. Therefore, I usually place a great deal of importance on the eyes, and most of my portraits are painted with direct eye contact aimed at the viewer.”

Near Big Sur by Daniel Clarke

This watercolour painting by American artist Daniel Clarke is inspired by the natural beauty of Big Sur, California. A little about this piece: “Big Sur is living poetry. Grace in physical form. Love exemplified. You come to Big Sur looking for “something”; perhaps a good hike. Or a day at the beach. Or condor watching. But She has other things in mind for you…unexpected gifts. For each of us, these gifts take on different forms. Big Sur, oak and redwood and open chaparral, fragile groves of bay & laurel – run wild.”

Fortissimo 107 by Sia Aryai

This unique acrylic paint piece by Sia Aryai features real gold leaf detailing. Artist Sia Aryai grew up in Iran, and later moved to England where he explored his artistic talent.

He loves to create abstract pieces and often uses gold leaf as a unique accent element. Artist Sia speaks about this piece: “I am always looking for new ways to use my skills to present the ancient and contemporary materials in unexpected ways. Gold leaf is brilliant for modern painting. Brings to life elegant details that appear as an icon.”

View from Window by Anyck Alvarez Kerloch

View from Window by Anyck Alvarez Kerloch

This acrylic painting by Spanish artist Anyck Alvarez Kerloch features a still-life window scene that offers an idyllic view.
Artist Anyck shares about her creative process: “I consider myself mainly a figurative painter, but I do feel the need to wander to the abstract, and I usually use the drawing technique for that. The process is what I like best, especially at the beginning when there is nothing to lose or at the very end when the work is so bad that there is absolutely nothing to lose either.”

Holy Moly 1 by Christel Haag

Holy Moly 1 by Christel Haag

This abstract painting by German artist Christel Haag features bold colours and abstract elements that create a sense of movement.

Artist Christel shares her passion for art: “I have a deep passion for creating abstract art. Nature inspires and drives my work. Whilst the many marvellous impressions I take home from my travels frequently appear in their abstract form in my paintings, I also express the mood and feeling of a particular moment in time. It is first and foremost the joy of painting, of colours, of the creative process itself and of the energy of being that drives my artistic creation.”
