Mappenmonde by Adel Abdessemed

1. The General Sense of Things: It may have felt like a slow fair since many of the long lines and crowds of previous years weren’t there, but art was selling none the less. The Wall Street Journal reported that Steve Cohen bought Adel Abdessemad’s “Mappemonde” for approximately $300,000 at David Zwirner and a work by Tim Hawkinson for $180,000 from the gallery Blum & Poe. The New York Times had some good insights on the temperature of the fair too.
