Artist Statement:
Sandra Zekk’s abstract paintings are dreamscapes, inspired by her imagination, subconscious, and inner reflections. Through color, brushwork, and the subtle allusions in her titles, Sandra leads you through the emotional subject of her work. Whether the art speaks to desire, identity, or choice, the bold paintings have an adventurist and futuristic style, executed in strong shapes and luminescent color. Each piece has a clear vanishing point, which creates a strong sense of three-dimensionality, depth and power. The work brings us up close to the introspective drama of the artist, placing us in the center of its power, enveloping us. There is a mystical and serene quality in each painting, which transfers to the surrounding space, creating a unique atmosphere with its presence.

Artistic Influences:
My artistic influences are first of all impressionistic, abstract and contemporary forms of art.
I love many traditional art periods like: Italian Renaissance floral motifs of Botticelli, Impressionism the bold colours of Van Gogh, surrealism of Salvador Dalì, Art Nouveau - the delicate feminine lines of Gustav Klimt, Russian Avant-garde and Kandinsky, Abstract expressionism, Italian Renaissance floral motifs and patterns.
For the world we are living today and tomorrow, the ultra fast challenging times, my art mission is to bring a positive change.
Obviously without knowing consciously I clearly have been influenced by artists from the past I think that it is inevitable that my art is here to inspire others, the world at large, and even future generations!
