Artist Statement:
"An abstract painting allows an artist to free their imagination.
This allows unique expression from each individual artist."
Darlene's originals are a process for her to place constant thoughts on a surface. The natural setting in her outside world holds hands if you will with her imagination so she can create joy with shape, colour and line.
This allows unique expression from each individual artist."

Artistic Influences:
Colours, shape, textures, shadows, lines and placement of paint layers are drawn from natural settings and the world around Darlene. With total abandon, she gently places part of her soul in each unique one of a kind piece.
The lake, streams, sky, trees and flowers are all part of her process. She may see unique shapes or lines on the sand or along a path near her home or she may pass a colour filled tree or an incredible sunset.
These are all very influential to her for future paintings.
Expressive artists that have influenced her along the way are Klimt, Kandinsky, Kline, Mitchell, Monet, Frankenthaler, Turner and Pollock.
Watson's works can be found in collections around the world, including, Canada, the United States, Ireland, Scotland, England, Austria, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, Kuwait and Australia.
