About This Work

Maybe I was used to too much gray at home at this time of year. The sun barely came through the clouds or not at all and it remained gray on gray. Depressing. This is what Berlin winter is like. But not just that. To escape the evil, I went to Portugal one February. The main thing is warmer, was my first thought. Anything but this nasty cold. Accordingly, I had no particular expectations of my travel destination. The main thing is to get away! However, the drive from Faro airport to the accommodation made my eyes shine! Bright orange dots kept popping up on the left and right of the road. I found this violence of color very fascinating! However, I'm not sure whether I was deceived by my eyes, since I was used to the gray in Berlin and my brain had just suffered a color shock. At that point, however, this thought was completely irrelevant and I was only in the here and now. I suffered the second color violence while sighing on the beach. All interior Instagramers would have made leaps of luck. A beach in the tone of your kitchen, living room, bedroom, children's room and bathroom. Gold, cream, nude, white, orange, ochre, beige, yellow, brown! Yes, I have to admit, it blew me away too. The beach and rocks were a magical shade and shimmered gold. Even the people on the beach shimmered golden. As if Goldmarie had something to do with it. Sitting on the beach and enjoying a pastel de nata was the highlight of this trip for me. The waves crashed loudly and powerfully and allowed me to humbly relax and enjoy the beach in my head and body. Luckily, I discovered a shop in Berlin that also sells pastéis de nata. And when it gets too gray for me again, I get a Pastel de Nata and my trip to Portugal in my head begins!
