It is officially the most expensive work of art ever sold at auction.\u00a0To be precise, it sold for more than twice the amount of the former most expensive work ever sold,\u00a0Picasso\u2019s Les femmes d\u2019Alger (Version \u2018O\u2019)<\/em>, which brought $179.4 million in 2015. The record breaking auction happened in under 20 minutes. Who bought it, you ask? Initially an anonymous client, the buyer turned out to be a little know Saudi Prince who bid on the artwork in increments as large as $30 million.<\/p>\n
