| Artist Statement: | Artists of all mediums and genres have a powerful tool which must be wielded with great caution and precision. The arts sculpt the mind of entire nations and knit the pattern of our culture. In light of this, purpose and reason must be a part of everything that is accomplished in my studio. Without these two factors, my paintings are empty, destructive, of no value beyond my own temporary enjoyment, and consequently amount to nothing remarkable upon completion. The message may be as simple as the feeling of amazement while studying the intricacies of a flower or the dancing reflections of light on an object. It may, in contrast, be as complex as pain and pleasure in a memory of a loved one who has passed. My drive as an artist is to offer paintings of the highest quality graced by a glimpse into my heart and passions by which the viewer’s life may be enhanced. |
