| Artist Statement: | My abstract paintings evolve through improvisation, experimentation, and intuition, unfolding and taking shape as the work progresses. Inspiration comes from the shapes and colors that surround me—a purple evening sunset on the lake, a blue shadowy line on the wall, a yellow triangle of light from the window--an elaborate yet unplanned interpretation of past experiences and present fascinations. It’s a personal expression that becomes a shared experience once the painting becomes an object to be viewed and reinterpreted by others. At present, I work mainly with acrylic on canvas, acrylic on paper, or gouache & graphite on paper. All paintings are signed on the back. |
