| Artist Statement: | I am primarily a figurative painter, but I also find beauty in all subjects. My favorite subjects are the deceptively ordinary scenes which we overlook as we rush here and there in our busy lives. I often find moments that stop me in my tracks. I try to avoid images that look as if they are posed, prefering instead to paint people as they are naturally engaged in living. My goal as a painter is to see beyond mere appearances. There is a spiritual nature in everything. Words cannot express it. That is why I paint. |
