| Artist Statement: | My paintings transform mixed media collages into lyrical, graphic environments of nuanced color and earthy pattern. Through my personal vocabulary of geometric and natural forms, I create abstracted landscapes and narratives that map a story of place, time, or psychological terrain which may be real or imagined, or both simultaneously, giving them a meditative but mysterious tension. By painting on wooden boxes, there is an added three-dimensional component to my work, blurring the line between sculpture and painting. |
