| Artist Statement: | My paintings are about color, shape, and space. I find the landscape powerful and mysterious. In my figure paintings I am intrigued by the way the human figure bends and distorts space. When I start a painting I do not know where it will go. Only after I have resolved it do I understand what drove me to make it. I believe the sources of painting, and of art generally, are unknown to us, flowing from some deep and universal reservoir. |
