| Artist Statement: | For me, art is a shared ability to see the world differently, to see something uncommon in common and to share it with others. I try to sense, recognize and capture significant combinations of shapes and patterns in the real world. How do I do my images? At first, I take picture of something I see by digital camera (most of my images come from photographs pavements and walls of East Sussex towns). Then from that photo using various techniques I abstract shapes and patterns, which I consider important and significant. I never paint anything myself. I only remove almost everything what interferes with my vision from the original photo. Why almost everything and not just everything? I try to leave room for the imagination of viewers. In the end I adjust tones and contrasts. I print my images on 100% cotton archival papers without brighteners and acids. Pigment inks with high fade resistance I use guarantee color stability for 100 years. |
