| Artist Statement: | My first painting was a highly textured image with three heads that looked very much like the Beatles. It was 1964 and I had just seen them on the Ed Sullivan show. My paintings are inspired by my experiences in life...and vary in approach whether I am painting directly from life or not. Sometimes, I paint as I see and other times I paint just to see where the process takes me. I have been influenced by figurative abstract painters as well as the Impressionists. |
