| Artist Statement: | Elizabeth Chapman is a modern expressionistic abstract artist. Her birth place Caracas, Venezuela naturally gives her work an element of intensity. She has lived the majority of her life in the beautiful Ozarks of Missouri with her wonderful husband and family. Elizabeth graduated from Missouri State University with a B.S. in Art Education which she has used as an art educator for well over a decade and she does continue to teach private lessons from her home studio. She is a versatile artist in having started with realistic floral watercolors, but has found her specialty in the expressionistic abstract realm. You will find a very strong sense of design and composition, important elements in working abstractly. Her modern abstract paintings have been described as vivid, lively and bold with a complexity of layers. Movement, color and texture are found dominating her body of work. The paintings are revelations of her innermost thoughts and feelings. Elizabeth is very deeply inspired by music. Her expressionistic modern abstracts have been sold locally, nationwide and internationally. They can be found in corporate settings as well as private collections. "It brings me much joy just to be the brush in the Master Painter's hand and to realize that His creations are made to bring great joy to all. My paintings are a form of song, dance and praise in response to the beauty of life. -Elizabeth |
