About This Work

This work was awarded 2nd place at MOTA day exhibition at Pasadena Museum of History. Our judge was Ardis Willwerth, who is the Director of Exhibitions for the Pasadena Museum of History. Inks on paper in black wood frame. Delicate details with dramatic patterns. I truly believe that love and friendship are the foundation of all relationships. The concept of love has been explored by many artists in the history of art. However, love is and still remains a very strong emotion which is hard to define. The figures in my paintings are merged together symbolizing the oblivious of anything else but each other. They are surrounded by colors and patterns created organically. These patterns and colors represent the relationships by chance while the silhouette (i.e. figures) represents our relationships by choice. This body of work is my effort to remind the power of love and lifelong commitment as friends and life partners.
