The artist began this painting in the winter of 2010/11, thickly pouring alkyd oil paint and allowing each to dry before pouring the next, in a criss-cross abstract pattern of paint runs. This thick paint technique is a contemporary form of impasto painting on a gessoed hardboard panel painted with earth red oil paint as ground. |
