Nest 1 is part of a series of mixed media paintings representing the farmland where I spent my childhood in Corrales, New Mexico. The land is close to the Rio Grande, so it was irrigated and had two large orchards, alfalfa fields, and plenty of room for animals; we had over a hundred free roaming chickens and a large flock of peacocks. |
