Untitled by Noe Badillo and Untitled Landscape #8 by Steven Miller - Guest Curator pics on Zatista Untitled by Noe Badillo Untitled by Noe Badillo Untitled Landscape #8 by Steven Miller Untitled Landscape #8 by Steven Miller Untitled and Untitled Landscape #8: I love that both of these pieces allude to a classical style of drawing and painting, but they’re clearly abstract and more modern. These, for example, could go beautifully in a modern or traditional room. I thought the hand on both of them was quite exquisite.

Unknown Passage: My favorite piece was this one. It looks like something from the 30s or 40s. It reminded me very much of some photographs of industrial buildings, and I thought it was powerful and beautiful, all at once. -- Leaves and Styrofoam: Owning a green company, this was a really great statement about things that biodegrade and don’t. The leaves are on the ground, they’ll go away; the Styrofoam is with us forever. In one way, it looks like snow, and it looks beautiful; but in another way it’s not doing something good for our world. -- Unearth 4: It’s a really great piece of modern drawing that could make a great bold statement in a fairly modern room. What I love about it is that it is black and white. They’re both literal, photographs of something that you can actually understand, but from a distance they are abstract. SF Series almost looks like a painting. -- Abandoned Elephant: I was so drawn to this eye… you can really see into the soul of this being. It is a beautiful photograph, but it becomes an abstract painting of texture. -- Duct: I couldn’t tell what it was… but now think it is air conditioning ducts. I love that you don’t get it at first.Underground: “This one I loved because it’s a really beautiful photograph of a train station…and it has amazing perspective: it’s like learning how to draw perspective in art 101.” -- Paris Street, near the Rue Buci: “The amazing colors first caught my eye. Pink and blue and light… beautiful colors of a street…I also appreciate the choice of keeping the trellis. Taking it out is more beautiful, but leaving it in makes the photograph more interesting.”
