Latte Art

For most, getting our morning coffee is exciting enough, but some baristas have truly taken things to the next level. Now, there is a little something special to look forward to when people look down at their coffee.

These surprises are part of the larger trend of art in coffee, more specifically lattes. Those who are artistically inclined are always finding new mediums to showcase their work – an outlet for their creativity. For some, it seems that lattes are the new canvas.

There are creations ranging from relatively simple patterns and figures to much more complex and even intricate 3 dimensional works coming right out of the cup.

Some baristas do their latte art casually as they hand over the cup, while others focus intensely on their craft…definitely worth waiting an extra few minutes for. I have certainly witnessed it bringing a smile to many faces.

The beauty almost makes you not want to drink it and perhaps even snap a photo before diving in.

If this trend continues, we may soon be approaching the day when coffee goers order a Grande, soy, extra foam, caramel latte…with a giraffe.
